In terms of fire, the regulations are essentially aimed at ensuring the protection of people and property against the risks of fire and explosion. They are regulated according to the nature and configuration of the premises and governed by the rules of insurance companies (APSAD) which recommend specific standardization measures.

The CAP Agent Vérificateur d'Appareils Extincteurs is a national diploma whose purpose is to train professionals capable of advising on the purchase, installation and use of fire extinguishers. Graduates are also qualified to recommission and maintain this equipment.
This diploma allows you to master the principles of operation, installation and maintenance of fire extinguishing devices. Trained agents can intervene in preventive maintenance to carry out technical checks and maintain the devices, as well as in corrective maintenance to repair them if necessary.

Tests:
To obtain the CAP Agent Vérificateur d'Appareils Extingincteurs, candidates must pass tests, divided into two categories: general and professional. The training to prepare for this exam lasts 2 weeks for independent candidates.

What does ssiap mean? / What does ssiap mean?
SSIAP stands for Fire Safety and Assistance to People Service . It is a set of professional qualifications in France, intended for security agents specializing in fire prevention and assistance to people in establishments receiving the public (ERP) and high-rise buildings (IGH).
The SSIAP is divided into three qualification levels:
SSIAP 1 : Fire safety agent, who carries out prevention and surveillance rounds, operates fire safety systems, and intervenes in the event of a fire.
SSIAP 2 : Fire safety team leader, who supervises SSIAP 1 agents, coordinates interventions in the event of a fire, and manages the security teams.
SSIAP 3 : Head of fire safety service, responsible for the overall management of the fire safety service in an establishment, staff training, and implementation of safety procedures.
These qualifications are required to work in fire safety in certain types of establishments in France.

Yes, fire training is mandatory in several contexts in France, particularly for companies and establishments receiving the public (ERP). Here are the main obligations:
1. Legal Obligations for Employers:
- Labor Code: Article R.4227-39 of the Labor Code requires employers to train employees on what to do in the event of a fire. This training must include:
- Learning how to use first aid equipment (such as fire extinguishers).
- Training in evacuation of premises.
- Awareness of company-specific fire risks.
- Article R.4227-28: This text stipulates that employers must ensure that all staff are aware of safety instructions, particularly regarding fire, and are trained to intervene appropriately.
2. Obligations for Establishments Receiving the Public (ERP):
- Security Personnel: ERPs must have personnel trained in fire safety, often holding the SSIAP (Fire Safety and Assistance to Persons Service) qualification.
- Evacuation drills: ERPs are required to regularly conduct evacuation drills and train employees in emergency procedures.
3. Obligations for High-Rise Buildings (IGH):
- SSIAP training: Personnel assigned to security in IGHs must be trained and qualified (SSIAP 1, 2, or 3 depending on responsibilities).
4. Continuing Education Obligations:
- Skills Refresher Training: Some qualifications, such as the SSIAP, require regular updating via refresher training to keep skills up to date.
5. Consequences in the Event of Non-Compliance:
- Penalties: Failure to comply with fire training requirements may result in penalties for the employer, such as fines, temporary closure of the establishment, or prosecution in the event of an accident.
- Civil and Criminal Liability: In the event of a fire, the lack of appropriate training may result in the employer being held civilly and criminally liable, particularly if the incident causes damage or casualties.
