When should you use a CO2 extinguisher?

These devices are recommended for Class B fires (hydrocarbons, solvents, petrol, alcohols, greases, oils, paints, etc.), but especially for electrical fires (former Class E), as they do not damage equipment or leave residues. Powder and water extinguishers with additives are also alternatives for these fires, but cause considerable damage and risk to the user.
