- Arrêté du 5 février 2013 relatif à l'application des articles r. 129-12 à r. 129-15 du code de la construction et de l'habitation (Decree of February 5, 2013 on the application of articles r. 129-12 to r. 129-15 of the Construction and Housing Code)
In the private areas of residential buildings, at least one standardized smoke detector is installed in each dwelling, preferably in the corridor or hallway leading to the bedrooms. The detector is securely mounted at the top, close to the highest point and away from other walls and sources of steam.
The occupant or, where applicable, the owner or the approved organization mentioned in L. 365-4 carrying out rental intermediation and social rental management activities, ensures that the detector is switched on by checking that the indicator light provided for this purpose is lit and, if necessary, replaces the batteries when the battery failure signal is emitted. He also regularly tests the detector.
